Slack
Install and connect the Trustle Slack app to automate access requests and approvals directly from Slack.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Slack workspace admin permissions, for installing the app.
- A Slack user account, for connecting your own account.
The integration setup has two parts: a workspace admin installs the Trustle app once, and then each user connects their own account.
Configure Slack
Section titled “Configure Slack”Install Trustle in Your Slack Workspace
Section titled “Install Trustle in Your Slack Workspace”- Log in to Trustle.
- Go to the Connections page.
- Under the Communications section, click Add to Slack on the Slack card.
- Slack redirects you to its authorization page.
- Choose the workspace and log in if prompted.
- Review and authorize. You may see “This app is not approved by Slack.” This is expected, since the app isn’t listed in the Slack App Directory.
- Click Allow to continue.
- After you authorize the app, Trustle redirects you back. A checkmark confirms the installation is complete.
Connect in Trustle
Section titled “Connect in Trustle”Connect Your Slack Account to Trustle
Section titled “Connect Your Slack Account to Trustle”- In Slack, click Connect to Trustle in the Home tab, or type
/trustle connectin any channel. The bot replies with a Connect to Trustle link. - Click the link. Slack redirects you to Trustle to authenticate, if necessary. Select Allow Connection to finish.
- Back in Slack, the Home tab now shows a Create Access Request button. Run
/trustle helpto see available commands.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Confirm the integration works by using it.
Available Commands
Section titled “Available Commands”/trustle help— View available commands./trustle connect— Connect your Slack account./trustle access-requests create— Submit a new access request./trustle access-requests list mine— View your access requests./trustle access-requests list action— View requests that need your action.
Access Request Workflow
Section titled “Access Request Workflow”- Create: run
/trustle access-requests create. - Select integration: choose from available systems, for example AWS or GitHub.
- Select group: pick the role or group you need.
- Add reason: explain why you need access.
- Set duration: choose from the timespan options.
- Submit: Trustle sends the request to approvers.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”- Requestors get notified when requests are approved, denied, or need more information.
- Approvers get alerts for new pending requests.
- Admins can manage notification settings in Trustle.

Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Confirm both setup steps are complete: the workspace install and your user connection.
- Confirm you have the required permissions.
- Try connecting again with
/trustle connect. - Contact your Trustle admin for workspace-level issues.
