Pinned entitlements

An entitlement is a requestable unit of access in a connected system, such as a group, role, or permission set. An admin pins the entitlements that users request most often so requesters find them without scrolling. Admins configure pins from the Manage Privileges table. Requesters see the effect in the Access Request dropdown and in the Slack entitlement picker.

How it works

By default, the request catalog lists entitlements by name, A to Z. A pin is a per-organization flag on an entitlement. Pinned entitlements sort first, before the name order, so they lead the list.

The default catalog order is pinned entitlements first (A to Z), then unpinned entitlements (A to Z).
A search term ignores pins. Search results rank by relevance only, so a low-relevance pinned entitlement does not outrank a high-relevance unpinned match.
An explicit sort order also ignores pins. Choosing a sort, even sorting by name, returns results in that order only.
In the Slack entitlement picker, pinned entitlements appear under a Pinned header, and the rest appear under an All entitlements header. A search in Slack drops both headers and shows one flat list ranked by relevance. If nothing is pinned, Slack shows one flat list with no headers.
Pins are scoped to the organization. Pinning an entitlement in one organization has no effect on the same entitlement in another organization.

Before you start

You need an org admin role. Requesters cannot pin or unpin entitlements.

Configure pinned entitlements

Step 1: Open Manage Privileges

Go to the entitlements table in Manage Privileges.

Step 2: Find the entitlements to pin

Use the search box to filter the table, for example by typing gcp to find matching groups.

Step 3: Pin or unpin

To pin or unpin one entitlement, click its pin icon in the row. A filled pin means the entitlement is pinned.

To pin or unpin every entitlement that matches your current search or filter, click Pin All or Unpin All. Confirm the count in the dialog that appears, such as “Pin 43 Entitlements?”. This applies to every matching entitlement, including matches on pages you have not opened.

What users see

In the Access Request dropdown, a pinned entitlement shows a pin indicator next to its name, and it appears above unpinned entitlements. Once a requester types a search term, the dropdown switches to relevance ranking and the pin indicator no longer affects order.

In Slack, a requester who opens the entitlement picker without a search term sees pinned entitlements grouped under a Pinned header. If the connection has more than one entitlement type, choosing All types lists the pinned entitlements of every type together.
